A couple of years ago I was contacted by some people in Utah who were having pesticides carelessly and illegally applied where they live. Since there were some federal laws broken, I contacted the EPA, but they did nothing. It was under the Trump administration and the EPA then was the EDA (Environmental Destruction Agency). I didn’t hear from the people in a couple of years, so I assumed they solved the issues locally. I was wrong. The called me yesterday and said it is still very bad. I will contact the EPA in the Biden administration and see if they will get involved.
Here are some of the issues going on it Utah;
One company was spraying Roundup all over the place and the owner of the company doing the spraying had his children spraying Roundup. He said it was perfectly safe!!!. People were out all over as they did the spraying throughout the morning and afternoon when children, teenagers, adults, animals, bees, other beneficial insects, etc., were out. They have exposed people, including young children, throughout the community. They even sprayed people and the food they were carrying.
Most County and City sprayers have not had licenses, even though there is a law requiring it. According to this law, “a person shall receive a license before applying (a) restricted use pesticide or (b) a general use pesticide for hire or in exchange for compensation”.
Schools and public buildings/property were sprayed. Children and teachers were at school. Parents were exposed as the early morning and afternoon kindergarteners exchanged. Some parents saw, but others were unaware that their children were exposed to Round-Up by Workers (which were minors). All workers for the County/City should be 18 and older, especially ones in dangerous positions, so why were unlicensed minors doing the job?
On another occasion, a girl scout camp was sprayed for mosquitoes, while the girl scouts were there. There is much more, and I asked them to send me all documents regarding these issues. As mentioned, I will contact the Biden administration about this and try to get some lawyers to work on this so people can get the medical bills from the pesticides paid by the local government. I will also post this on Facebook as it develops and, hopefully, make it nationally known so other cities and counties in the country don’t do this.
